SERVICE
FUEL TANK STRAINER
A screen-type fuel strainer is located on top of the supply
valve inside the fuel tank. The screen should be inspected and cleaned every service
interval. With the gas tank empty (drained through the fuel valve line with the valve set
to reserve), carefully unscrew the fuel supply valve from the tank. Inspect and clean the
fuel strainer, then reinstall the valve in the fuel tank.
CHECK OIL LEVEL
If the motorcycle is equipped with
a dipstick, you may check the oil level while the motorcycle
is on the kickstand. Proper oil level should be visible within
the indicator marks. Otherwise, the oil level should be
checked when the engine is at normal operating temperature
setting upright and level. First remove the seat then remove
the oil cap by unscrewing counterclockwise. The oil level
should be visible at the bottom of the filler neck. Use
caution to avoid overfilling the oil tank.
