PREPARING YOUR MOTORCYCLE FOR STORAGE
There are things to do
if your motorcycle will not be operated for several months. To protect parts against
corrosion, preserve the battery and prevent the build up of deposits in the carburetor
the following steps are recommended to prepare your motorcycle for storage:
1. Change the oil and filter.
2. Fill the fuel tank and add a gasoline stabilizer.
3. Run the motorcycle for 1-2 minutes to circulate the fresh oil and give the stabilizer a
chance to reach the carburetor.
4. Check condition of the drive belt.
5. Inflate tires to proper pressure.
6. Wash painted surfaces.
7. Remove battery.
If the motorcycle is to be covered, use a material such as light canvas that will breathe.
Plastic materials trap condensation against the surfaces of your motorcycle.
FUEL IS FLAMMABLE. DO NOT STORE A MOTORCYCLE WITH GASOLINE IN THE TANK INSIDE
YOUR HOME OR GARAGE IF THERE ARE OPEN FLAMES, PILOT LIGHTS, SPARKS OR ELECTRIC
MOTORS PRESENT.
