Serves 4 as side dish

900 g sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped into 2.5-cm pieces
4 tsp margarine
2 tsp granulated sugar
250 ml plant-based milk (for instance, oat milk or almond milk) and
75 ml non-dairy cream (for instance, oat cream)
1 pinch of coarse salt

1. Fill the water reservoir with water.
2. Place the sweet potatoes in the steam bowl.
3. Steam for 20 minutes or until tender.
4. Transfer the sweet potatoes to a bowl and add the remaining ingredients.
5. Mash everything into a puree with a hand-held blender or potato masher.
6. Season to taste and serve warm.
