OPERATION

The appliance is intended only for domestic use, not for professional use.
The following description is associated with the image on page 2:

1.  Unpack the device and remove all packaging parts.

2.  Clean the device before using for the first time (see ‘Cleaning and maintenance’).

Operation

1.  Place the appliance on a flat and steady surface.

2.

This appliance must be connected to an earthed socket.

3.  Open the lid of the water reservoir (8). Pour sufficient water into the reservoir (not less than 4 cups

and not more than 12 cups, as shown on the water-level indicator (9).

4.  Use the permanent filter (1) or put a paper filter (1 x 4) in the filter holder. Fill the paper filter with the

required amount of ground coffee (the customary quantity is 1 level scoop (7) for each cup).

5.  Connect the plug (10) to the wall socket. Switch on the appliance by pushing the start button (11).

The control light will now illuminate and the coffee will be prepared.

6.

The pause-and-serve (3) function enables you to pour a cup of coffee before the coffee maker has

finished. Replace the thermal carafe quickly, to prevent the filter from overflowing.

7.

The coffee machine automatically stops when the brewing is done. If you wish to halt the brewing

prematurely, you can push the start button again. The control light will extinguish.

8.  Remove the plug from the wall socket.

WARNING:

•

Allow the appliance to cool down before using it to brew additional coffee!

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1.  Switch off the appliance, take the plug out of the socket, and allow the coffee maker to cool.

2.  Open the filter holder. Dispose of the paper filter or remove the permanent filter from the casing,

clean it in warm water and dry it thoroughly.

3.

Remove the opened filter holder from the housing and clean it with warm water and dish soap. Then

rinse well with clean water and dry thoroughly. Place the filter holder back in the housing and put the

permanent filter back.

4.  Clean the thermal carafe in hot washing-up water.

5.

Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. Make sure no moisture gets into the appliance.

WARNING:

•

Only the permanent filter and filter holder may be immersed in water and are dishwasher safe.

•

Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects (such as knives or hard brushes) to

clean the appliance.

Descaling

Limescale can reduce the efficiency of your coffee maker. Limescale is common in areas with hard water.

We advise the use of a suitable descaling agent to remove any scale. Always follow the instructions for the

descaling agent. The amount of scale will be reduced when you use a water softener.
