Usage of the iZi Transfer
How to use the iZi Transfer with your baby
Thank you for choosing BeSafe iZi Transfer. We have developed this
product with great care and in close consultation with babywearing
experts to ensure a joyful and safe experience for you and your baby.
It is important that you read this user manual BEFORE using this
product. Incorrect use could endanger your child.
• To enjoy a safe baby wearing journey always keep your attention
on your baby and check the following points.
• The iZi Transfer can be used for short term transfers of the baby
and should not be used to carry the baby for periods longer then
10 minutes.
• Always close the harness with both buckles and adjust the
harness to the correct size and to have a secure fit.
• Assure that the head support is around the head and that the head
is well supported and in line with the body when lifted.
• Make sure the legs are supported up to the knees by the bottom
area before lifting the baby.
1. Position the iZi Transfer on a stable and flat surface
2. Open the harness and put both shoulder straps and the crotch
strap aside. (2)
3. Position the baby on top of the iZi Transfer. Align the top of the
shoulder straps with the shoulders of the baby. (3)
4. Position the head support around the head of the baby. (3)
5. Take the arms of the baby through the shoulder straps and put
both buckle parts on the belly of the baby. Take the crotch strap up
and connect both buckles with the corresponding buckle parts at
the shoulder straps. (4, 5)
6. Remove slack from the straps by tightening them equally on both
sides. (6)
7. Make sure the legs are supported up to the knees by the bottom
area before lifting the baby. (7)
8. Lift the baby by taking both carrying handles up. Check that the
baby’s arms are inside the iZi Transfer and not through the handle
openings. (8)
9. Lift the baby towards the protected area of your arms to protect
the head of the baby while transferring your baby. (9)
10. When positioning in a car seat or stroller, always secure your
baby with the harness system of the car seat or stroller; the iZi
Transfer can remain aorund the baby and the harness of the iZi
Transfer can remain closed; make sure that the buckles from the
iZi Transfer are positioned above the car seat buckle and are not
underneath the car seat belts. (10)
11. To take your baby out of a car seat, open the car seat buckle and
• Lift the baby by always using both handles, don’t lift with only 1
handle.
• Make sure that the head of the baby is higher than the legs when
lifting the baby.
• Protect the head of the baby once he/she is lifted by placing the
baby inside your arm. Don’t carry the baby by the 2 handles next to
your body to avoid that their head might hit a hard object.
• The iZi Transfer is not developed as and does not replace a
sleeping bag.
• When used inside a car seat, the baby must always be secured
with the harness of the car seat.
• When used in combination with a stroller, the baby must always be
secured with the harness of the stroller, when available.

• The iZi Transfer is recommended from 4 weeks of age, from
clothing size 56 - 68 and up to a maximum weight of 9 kg.
• The iZi Transfer should not be used for low birthweight babies
until they reach the recommended size. Consult your paediatrician
if in doubt.
