Preparation for installation
In this chapter you will learn what the prerequisites are
for installation. Perform all the steps in this guide one
after the other.
Ø
Make sure that all the safety instructions from the
chapters "General Safety Instructions" and "Safety
Instructions for the Installer" are followed.
WARNING
Risk of injury from falling parts if
improperly fastened.
Ø
Ensure that the cabinet has sufficient
bearing capacity.
Ø
Only use suitable fastening
materials.
The supplied fastening material is
only to be used for fastening into a
stable cabinet (e.g. 16 mm wooden
sheets). If there are other installation
conditions, you can ask your
architect for example, about
alternative fastening methods before
installation.
Ø
Ensure that the device is correctly
suspended.
Ø
Ensure that the power supply meets the voltage
supply specified on the ratings plate.
Ø
Ensure that the connection to the power supply is
made after the device is installed.
Ø
Make sure that the device can be disconnected on all
poles from the electricity supply after installation.
Qualifications of personnel
Two persons are required to mechanically install the
device.
These technicians must have sufficient craftsman skills
and knowledge.
The required specialist skills include:

Knowledge of the regulations on safety at work
§
Ability to read technical drawings
§
Experienced in using electrical and mechanical
tools
§
Knowledge of fastening systems
§
Basic knowledge of ventilation systems
§
It would be ideal to have several years experience
in installing extraction hoods and further additional
qualifications, like an apprenticeship as a carpenter
for example
Persons without this specialist knowledge must be
trained by an experienced technician in the installation.
Prerequisites for the mechanical end
assembly
The required prerequisites for the installation include:
§
The cabinet is has sufficient bearing capacity.
§
A power socket is provided on-site for the power
supply, installed and checked by an electrician.
§
For exhausted air and hybrid operation: The
connection cables for the wall box and/or window
contact switch are laid on-site.
§
For exhausted air and hybrid operation: The
exhaust pipe is laid on-site to the installation
location.
