Further information on the basic settings of the device can be found in the

Default settings
IP address: The device looks for the IP address using DHCP
Password for management:
Login: user; password: public (read only)
Login: admin; password: private (read and write)
Parameters that can be set via the management are set to pre-defined
values in accordance with the MIB
V.24 data rate: 9,600 Baud
Ring redundancy: disabled
Ethernet ports: link status is not evaluated (signal contact)
Optical 100 Mbit/s ports: 100 Mbit/s, full duplex
All other ports: autonegotiation
Ring manager disabled
Stand-by coupling: disabled
Port 4 = control port, port 3 = coupling port for red. Ring coupling
USB interface
The USB socket has an interface for the local connection of an
AutoConfiguration Adapter (part number ACA 21-USB see on
page 48
). It is used for saving/loading the configuration and for
loading the software.
V.24 interface (external management)
The V.24 interface is an RJ11 socket.
At the V.24 connection, a serial interface is provided for the local
connection of an external management station (VT100 terminal or PC
with corresponding terminal emulation). This enables you to set up a
connection to the Command Line Interface (CLI) and to the system
monitor.
