External encoder
For
applications
requiring
the
output
of
the
BA627E-SS Set Point Station to be controlled ex-
ternally, terminals 5, 6 and 7 enable a wide range of
three wire quadrature encoders with switch contact
outputs to be directly connected to the BA627E-SS.
The Set Point Station’s output current can still be
controlled by the
&
and
*
buttons when an ex-
ternal encoder is connected.
With two handed operation the encoder only
changes the Set Point Station’s output when the
)
button is operated - see section 2.1.
Alternatively,
with single handed operation it is not necessary to
press the
)
button - see section 2.2.

BEKA BA490 rotary encoder
The BEKA BA490 quadrature output rotary encoder
has been designed to operate with the BA627E-SS
Set Point Station.
It is an IP66 panel mounting
device with a 20mm diameter control.
The two out-
put waveforms and connections are shown in
Fig
11.
