6.4 Software
6.4.1 Operating software
The ULTRA-CURVE PRO operating software is under continuous development to improve its performance
and control, and to keep pace with your expectations and requirements. Therefore you are asked to contact
us with your needs, suggestions and ideas. We will make every effort to put your ideas into use in successive
software updates. In order to receive a new software update, you must send your ULTRA-CURVE PRO to the
above address. Information about new software versions will be available through music magazines, from
your dealer or directly from BEHRINGER Spezielle Studiotechnik GmbH Phone +49 / 2154 / 92060.
The current software version will always be displayed shortly after switching the ULTRA-CURVE PRO on
(below right edge of the display). You will automatically receive the latest software when you order theAES
8024 option.
6.4.2 PC software EQ-Design
EQ-Design is a software program to run on a PC designed to control one or more ULTRA-CURVE PROs via
MIDI, with extra functions and improved ease of use. The software requires an IBM compatible PC with a MIDI
interface. All ULTRA-CURVE PRO features are controllable from the PC with a graphical user interface.
When running EQ-DESIGN a window is opened which will show either the EQ mode or RTA mode conform the
operation of the ULTRA-CURVE PRO. By selecting MODE - EQ or MODE - RTA or by depressing the corre-
sponding pictograms you can switch between EQ- or RTA mode.

All features present on the ULTRA-CURVE PRO are represented here. With a pointer device i.e. mouse,
trackball or touchpad a fader or group of faders can be selected and moved. Below the equalizer are five buttons
with witch you can return all settings to neutral (ZERO), invert, clear, load and save programs.
By pressing PAR the parametric equalizer window is opened. The parametric equalizer can be set by first
selecting a filter and then moving the faders which control the parameters. A graphic illustration clearly shows
the total influence of all the applied filters. The influence of the filter which is currently being edited is shown in
red.
