If the test instrument shows the pin assign-
ment in compliance with Figure 5.4.5, i.e. the
'turn mains plug' symbol (5) is flashing; the
test cannot be started. When starting the test,
an acoustic signal is audible. The shockproof
plug must be turned or L and N have to be ex-
changed for the test leads connected.
To carry out the socket test touch the contact
electrode 'PE' (21).
If the test instrument indicates the symbols
(14), 'socket error' (4), and 'PE error' (16), or
'contact voltage' (15), in compliance with fig-
ure 5.3.6, the protective conductor (PE) is open
or a voltage is present! This error is fatal and
must immediately be eliminated!

If other symbols than shown in Figure 5.4.4 or
5.4.5 appear in the LCD, the socket is not cor-
rectly connected or the test lead connection is
faulty. The explanation for the individual errors
is listed in section 6.0 on page 31.
Briefly press the ”Start / on" key (22), the test is
started. During running measurement test, the
message 'Test...' is (11) is displayed, please refer
to figure 5.4.7.

After approx. 3 seconds, the loop resistance test
is completed and the instrument then displays
the test result. The instrument Telaris 0100-
ELECTROcheck works with a limit value of 1.5
Ω
.
The mains loop resistance measured is evaluat-
ed and directly displayed as result (10) or (6) to-
gether with symbol (14). Behind the LCD, a green
LED is illuminated as additional indication for
successful test completion, the red LED indicates
an unsuccessful test result.
