Unpacking the Instrument
WARNING
To prevent possible injury, wear safety glasses or safety goggles when removing
metal strapping, and use the steel strapping cutter with caution. Strapping may
spring back when cut, causing injury.

Wearing safety glasses or goggles, carefully cut the metal bands securing the instrument box to
the pallet.

Remove the piece of plywood from the top of the instrument box and set it aside.
The instrument box consists of the tube/tray cap and shell, which cover the Biomek NX
P
instrument on the pallet.

Lift the tube/tray cap and shell off of the Biomek NX
P
instrument and set them aside.

Remove the plastic bag from the Biomek NX
P
instrument.

Locate the six ‘U’ brackets securing the Biomek NX
P
instrument to the pallet, as shown in
Figure 2.3 . Each ‘U’ bracket is secured with two screws.
