7.11.1 Description of the PMP
Description
The pixel map processor (PMP) receives the input signals in a digital format:
• source signals are coming from the input boards through board-to-board connectors
• the desktop image is coming from an external computer through a DVI connector
In the PIP FPGA, we fi rst have the AMDS and CSC (color space conversion) and every signal is synchronized to the clock signal.
Then the sources can be rescaled and mixed with the desktop image (server signal). This is based on color keying. The signal as
it leaves the PIP is sent both to the WARP FPGA and to the output layer.
In the WARP FPGA, de-interlacing, noise reduction, image warping, α - and β -planes, OSD and Dynacolor will be implemented.
The data is converted into LVDS before it is send to the preformatter board.
Next to this video processing, we have a processor to manage control of the projector.
