AIR ADJUSTMENT ON THE
COMBUSTION HEAD UPON BURNER
START-UP
The combustion head has an adjustment device that allows
the air passage between the disk and the combustion head
to be opened (move backward) or closed (move forward). By
closing the passage, it is thus possible to obtain a high pressure
upstream of the disk also for low flow rates. The high speed and
turbulence of the air provides for its greater penetration into the
fuel and therefore for an excellent mixture and flame stability.
High air pressure upstream of the disk may be necessary to
prevent flame fluctuations, this is particularly essential when the
burner works on the combustion chamber that is pressurized
and/or at a high thermal load.
!
Avoid that the combustion head closes completely
and centre it with respect to the disk perfectly. An
imperfect centring with respect to the disc could
cause a bad combustion and overheating of the head
with its subsequent rapid deterioration.
- Check that the adjustment is correct using the indicator glass
placed on the lower part of the burner crosshead nut.
IGNITION AND ADJUSTMENT
Manual burner operation instructions.
Combustion may be checked throughout the entire burner operat-
ing range by manually controlling the equipment. After having
disconnected the boiler connector (15) taking signals from the
thermostat line, insert the connector (14) supplied with the burner
in its place. Use the +/- button to increase or decrease gas and
air supply. After completing the check, reconnect the boiler con-
nector (15) so as to restore automatic operation.
1) Check that there is water in the boiler and that the system
gate valves are open.
2) Make absolutely sure that the products of combustion can
be released freely (boiler and flue gates must be open).
3) Check that the voltage of the electrical line corresponds
to that required by the burner. Electrical connections
(motor and main line) must be prepared for the voltage
available. Check that all electrical connections made
on-site are performed correctly as shown in the wir-
ing diagram. To prevent ignition of the second flame,
open the second stage thermostat circuit.
4)
Adjusting the power when switching on for the first time
- position the gas flow regulation cam to the first flame
on the electric servomotor to an opening angle of 30°
(0002936830). If it exists, open the safety valve flow regula-
tor completely.
- Now switch on the switch (1). The control equipment thus
receives voltage and the programmer causes the burner
to switch on as described in the chapter “OPERATION
DESCRIPTION”. During pre-ventilation, make sure that the
