WARNING
Before removing the vehicle’s battery, review all of the battery
manufacturer’s safety instructions, warnings and directives regarding
battery disconnection, removal and replacement.
IMPORTANT
When using the BBCE12-15S as a memory saver, the charger clamps will
be connected to the
vehicle’s
positive and negative terminals, NOT to the
battery.
1.
Connect the charger’s POSITIVE (RED) clamp to the vehicle’s POSITIVE terminal (NOT
the battery post.)
2.
Connect the charger’s NEGATIVE (BLACK) clamp to the vehicle’s NEGATIVE terminal
(NOT the battery post).
3.
Connect the charger to the AC mains.
4.
Press the button to select Power Supply mode, and then double-click to enter the mode.

5. Make sure that the charger’s negative clamp is well connected to the vehicle’s
negative terminal
. Disconnect the negative battery terminal from the negative battery
post.
6. Make sure that the charger’s positive clamp is well connected to the vehicle’s
positive terminal.
Disconnect the positive battery terminal from the positive battery post.
7.
Cover the positive and negative terminals with an insulator, such as electrical tape. This
prevents the connectors from touching metal, each other or the chassis, and causing a
short circuit.
8.
Replace the old battery with the new battery.
9.
Uncover and connect the vehicle’s positive terminal to the POSITIVE (POS, P, +) battery
post.
10.
Uncover and connect the vehicle’s negative terminal to the NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -)
battery post.
BATTERY CONNECTION INDICATOR
If the charger does not detect a properly connected battery, charging will not start and the digital
display will show one of two messages. If the display shows
CONNECT CLAMPS
, make sure
that the charger is connected to the battery and the connection points are clean and making
a good connection. If the display shows
WARNING - CLAMPS REVERSED
, unplug the
charger from the AC outlet, reverse the connections at the battery, and then plug the charger
back in.
