CONTROLS
7.1
Rider Presence Lever:
Once brake is disengaged and/or mower is NOT in neutral, the rider presence
lever will allow your mower to be fully operational. Releasing the rider presence lever will kill the
engine.
7.2
Control Lever:
These levers control the mower's speed, direction, and neutral lock. These levers are
used to steer, accelerate, decelerate, and change direction.
7.3
Parking Brake:
To engage the parking brake, pull the handle towards and to the right of the operator
until the brake is in lock position. To disengage, slowly move brake to the right and away from the
operator to its forward most position.
7.4
Neutral Lock:
To engage the neutral lock, fully depress the control levers and push down on the
neutral lock. You must first do this in order to start your mower. To disengage, fully depress control
levers while pressing down on the front of the neutral lock with your index fingers. This will engage the
control levers allowing full mower operation.
7.5
PTO Switch:
This switch engages the blades. Pull the switch up to engage the blades and push the
switch down to disengage the blades.
7.6
Choke Control:
A cable is linked to manually operate the engine choke. When the lever is in the down
position the choke is in the off (run) position. When the lever is pulled up, the choke is in the on (start)
position. Do not operate the machine in the on (start) position. The choke lever on the driver's left side
near the blade engage switch.
7.7
Speed Control:
The speed control lever is used to set the desired speed of your walk behind mower.
Pulling the speed control lever towards the operator will slow your mower, while pushing the lever away
from the operator causes acceleration of your walk behind mower.
7.8
Throttle Control:
a cable is connected to the engine throttle for controlling engine speed. Move lever
forward to increase engine RPM, move lever toward operator to decrease RPM.
7.9
Key Switch:
Bad Boy WALK-BEHIND mowers have two position key switch: off and on. With key
inserted, rotate it clockwise to on position. Your WALKBEHIND mower is now ready to be started.
