Error Checking
In case the StorPoint NAS has not been properly shut down, for example during a write operation,
the hard disk file structure may get damaged.
To find out if there are any errors on the hard disk it is possible to perform an
Error-checking
. This
will check the hard disk for errors and if any are found, also repair the hard disk.
To check for errors on the hard disk, follow these steps:
1. Start the Web browser.
2. Enter the name or IP address of the StorPoint NAS in the location/address field.
3. Click
admin
. You will be prompted for User Name and Password. By default this is set to
root
and
pass
respectively.
4. Click the icon that corresponds to the hard disk you want to check.
5. Click
Error-checking
.
6. Select the
Automatically fix file system errors
checkbox to fix the errors
automatically.
7. Click
Start
to start checking for errors.
Note:
If you do not select the
Automatically fix file system errors
checkbox, only a hard disk check
will be performed. All results can be viewed in the Event Log.
