3.10.3. Virtual AP#1 (WIFI:VAP1)
Each VAP (1-4) has its individual parameters. These parameters specify things like the SSID string, VLAN
information, and Security Modes.
SSID
Enter the name of your WiFi network here.
Notes:
∂
The maximum length of the name is 15 characters.
∂
If the endpoints have been reset to factory settings and you then change the SSID, you must also enter a
pre-shared key (this can be the factory password on the bottom of the endpoint or your own).
Security Mode
∂
Open: No Security
∂
WEP: Only 1 instance per radio allowed
∂
WPA: Support 802.1x, WPA (WPA-1), WPA2,
Pre-Shared Key
Specify a WiFi security key for the WiFi connection here.
Note:
The Pre-Shared Key may be a maximum of 63 characters long and may not contain any special
characters,
only numbers and letters
.
VLAN ID
Available and Configurable if both “Operation Mode : Bridge” (WIFI:NET) and “Start Mode : Multi-VAP with
VLAN” (WIFI:RADIO) are enabled. Each VAP could be differentiated by its assigned VLAN ID.
WPA Setting
Default is 'Auto' to detect either 802.1x, WPA, or WPA2 for 'WPA Mode'. 'Auto' to detect either TKIP or AES
(CCMP) for cypher 'Encoding'. Either using Pre-Shared Key as pass-phrase or using a RADIUS Server for
authentication.
3.10.4. Virtual AP#2/3/4 (WIFI:VAP2/3/4)
Available and Configurable as VAP1 if “Start Mode : Multi-VAP...”(WIFI:RADIO)
3.10.5. Status (WIFI:Status)
Show current AP wired (Ethernet) MAC address and wireless (WiFi) MAC address, Radio status, WiFi clients
(stations) and related RSSI.
RSSI (signal strength)
RSSI is an indication of the power level being received by the antenna. To determine the relative distance of
the AP from the station. This is used to determine how the Automatic Noise Immunity(ANI) levels are selected.
The relationship between RSSI value X and measured power level Y in dBm will be Y=X-95 approximately.
∂
Close-Range: RSSI of beacons from the AP is greater than 40 (high), max 60; or power level is above -
55dBm
∂
Mid-Range: RSSI is less than 40 (high), but greater than 7 (low); power level is between -55dBm and -
88dBm
∂
Long-Range: RSSI is less than 7 (low); power level is less than -88dBm
3.10.6. Default (WIFI:Default)
Reset the WiFi settings of EP to ‘EP Default Profile’ settings, and will take effect after ‘ReConfig’ the EP. Not
include Ethernet settings.
3.10.7. Apply changes to the configuration (WIFI: ReCfg)
Save the "WIFI" settings of the endpoint.
