•

Remove the filter elements (Fig. 11 Pos. 24)

•

Clean the filter elements with soapy water. After

rinse the filter elements with clear water and allow

to dry thoroughly before refitting.

•  Reassemble in reverse order

m

 WARNING

NEVER

use gasoline or cleaning solvents with a low

flash point to clean the air filter element. A fire or ex

-

plosion could result.

Note

Never run the engine without or with a damaged air

filter.  Dirt  gets  so  into  the  engine,  causing  serious

engine damage can occur. In this case, seller, and

manufacturer disassociate from any warranty.

Change the diesel filter (Fig. 7)

The diesel filter (Fig. 7/Item I) must be changed if im

-

purities can be seen in the inspection window (Fig. 7/

Item I). To clean the diesel filter you will need a funnel

connected to a petrol/diesel-resistant fuel hose, pet-

rol/diesel-resistant gloves and an empty diesel fuel

canister (IMPORTANT: never mix petrol and diesel).

Cleaning

•  Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor

housing free of dirt and dust. Wipe the equipment

with a clean cloth or clean it with compressed air

at low pressure.

•  We recommend that you clean your device after

each use.

•  Clean the unit regularly with a damp cloth and

some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or

solvents; they may damage the plastic parts of the

appliance. Make sure that no water can get inside

the unit.

10. Winter operation

Since the generator is powered by a diesel engine,

special precautions must be taken for using it in

the winter. Use “winter diesel” to operate the diesel

generator in outdoor temperatures between -3°C to

-10°C. The change to winter diesel takes place at dif-

ferent times depending on the country concerned, it

is general around the end of October. You can ask at

your filling station when this change should be made.

•  If you use the diesel generator regularly, you do not

need to take any precautions since the change to

winter diesel takes place automatically.

•  If you do not use the generator for a lengthy period

during autumn, but then wish to use it again in win-

ter, we recommend that you keep the tank almost

empty

•

Ask at your filling station when you should change

to winter diesel and fill the tank with winter diesel

before the onset of outdoor temperatures of be-

tween -3°C and -10°C.

•  If the diesel fuel still freezes, you must move the

diesel generator to a place where the temperature

is approxi10°C for a period of approximate-

ly 12 hours.

•  If the tank is between halfway and full with normal

diesel fuel, this should then be drain as described

in point 8.4.

•

Then fill the tank with winter diesel.

•

If the tank is between empty and half-full, simply fill

it up with winter diesel.

Important.

Defective overload cut-outs must be re-

placed only by overload cut-outs of identical design

and with the same performance data. If repairs are

necessary, please contact your customer service

center.

12V DC connector

If an overload occurs, the 12V DC connector (Fig. 2/

Item 15) will be isolated from the supply. The 12V DC

connector can be reconnected by pressing the over-

load switch Fig. 2/Item 13).

230V~ sockets

If an overload occurs, the 230V~ sockets (Fig. 2/Item

16) will be isolated from the supply. You can restart

the 230V~ sockets by pressing the overload switch

(Fig. 2/Item 12).

8.2 Switching off the engine

•  Before you switch off the generator, allow it to run

briefly with no consumers so that it can “cool down”.

•  Move the ON/OFF switch (Fig. 2/Item 18) to posi-

tion “OFF” using the key.

Note: The engine can also be stopped by pressing

the mechanical switch (Fig. 4/Item 23). Before it is

restarted in this case, the lever (Fig. 4/Item 23) must

be moved back to the right until it engages.

8.3 Oil warning light (10)

The display activates when the oil level is too low

and switches off the engine. As soon as the oil level

is sufficient, the engine can be restarted.

9. Maintenance

m

 WARNING

•  Carry out maintenance work only with the stopped

engine.

•  Pull the spark plug cap from the spark plug

Oil change

The engine oil change should take place when the

engine is at operating temperature.

•  When changing the oil, have a non-leaking con-

tainer available.

•  Remove the engine cover (Fig. 1 Pos. 5)

•

Open the oil filler plug (Fig. 6 Pos. 22)

•  Undo the oil drain screw (Fig. 6/Item 21) and drain

the warm engine oil through the drain channel into

a container.

•  After all the oil has drained out, tighten the oil drain

screw

•  Fill the engine oil to the upper mark of the dipstick

using the oil-filling container.

•  Dispose of the oil in accordance with stipulations.

Take the old oil to a collection point. Most petrol

stations, garages or recycling centres take back old

oil free of charge.

Air filter

Frequently cleaning of the air filter prevents carbure

-

tor malfunction.

Clean the air filter and change air filter inserts

•

The air filter  should be cleaned every 30 hours.

•  Remove the engine cover (Fig. 9 Pos. 5)

•

Remove the air filter cover (Fig. 10 Pos. 4)
