2. Communication with the Panel.  

 

2.1.  Self-Starting from SB to the Panel: 

 

Press the self-starting button (

) in the SB: 

 

 

The guard porter connects audio and video (if it exists), with the last panel it had 
communication with. At this point, it is possible to use the 

readdressing

 function. 

(See the note below). 

 

 

The self-starting function is enhanced in the new SB, allowing the navigation 
through panels connected to the same bus. For this, the vertical arrows should be 
used to increment 

,

 or decrement 

 

the panel number (from 0 to 15). If the panel 

doesn’t exist, the message “NOT AVAILABLE” will appear on the screen but the 
system will still allow to keep searching, until whatever panel answers connecting 
audio and video (if it’s a video panel). 

 

 

If the SB is external the self-starting is only available for the external panels. 

 
 

Note

 

 

The readdressing

 function allows the guard porter to connect the outdoor panel 

with any monitor in the installation. For that, once he has the communication with 
the panel established, if the 

OK

 (

Change

) button is pressed, the system will allow 

the user to navigate (using 

 

or entering a call

 

code

 + OK

)

 

through

 

the call 

codes. Following the instructions on the screen, the guard porter will be able to 
directly 

pass the call

 to the tenant (using 

). 

 
 

2.2.  Call from the Panel: 

Operation mode: Standard

Call with a call code (1-254)

 

 

The screen of the SB will show information about the tenant the call is addressed to 
and also the number of panel the call comes from (see Figure 3). This information 
will be shown over a blue screen if it is an audio installation, or over the outdoor 
video if it is a video installation. 

 

 

 With the handset hanged up, the following actions can be performed:  

 

 

Open the door pressing (

 

Reject the call pressing (

 

Pass the call directly to the corresponding tenant (

). See note “Passing an 

incoming call”, page 8.  

 

Readdress the call to another tenant (
