To format the memory card, turn the camera “ON”.  
Now, simultaneously pr ess and  ho ld down th e “Format / Mode” and the “Format / Trash”

 

Buttons for approximately two seconds. 
A blinking “For” will appear in the top control panel and the frame count will blink.   
Now, simult aneously press both bu ttons a second time to start the formatting process.  The

 

“Memory Card Access L amp” (by th e memory card door lat ch) will  illuminate.  Once  formatting 

is complete, the green active indicator light will turn off and the frame count display will show the 

number of photos that can be recorded at the current settings. 
 

    

 

Format Memory Card 

 

 

*Note* Formatting memory cards permanently deletes any data they may contain.  

Be sure you are ready to completely clear the card of all data before formatting.
