USE
DISTILLED
OR
DEMINERALISED
WATER.
The battery must be cleaned to prevent the forming of salt, as well as current bypass likely to
damage the machine.
Clean it with clear water, without removing the caps, and brush the lugs to remove any deposit.
OUTDOOR STORAGE
When the battery is not used, it must be
stored charged in a clean and dry room, and
protected against freezing. The battery can
be stored at an ambient temperature of 30° C
without maintenance.
For outdoor storage, at temperatures below 0°
C, check the density of the electrolyte to
prevent reaching the freezing point.
FREEZING POINT
Example: When the battery's electrolyte has a
density of 1.075, its freezing point is -5°C.
When the battery is fully charged, the
electrolyte density is about 1.28, i.e. its
freezing point is -85°C. Therefore, the higher
the battery charge, the lesser the risk of
freezing.
- NOTE-
The battery must be fully charged when working outdoors at very cold temperatures.
RECOMMENDATIONS OF USE
- Never leave the machine idle with the
battery discharged.
- The temperature of the elements must be
below 45°C when charging. Runaway heat
may damage the battery.
- Measure the voltages and densities of the
electrolyte at least once per month. Proper
measurement must be made immediately
after charging. The electrolyte's density
allows to determine the charge state of the battery.
