Protocol Gateway
Use this page to configure the settings for Modbus communication.
Item
Description
Initial delay
Sets a duration that the Modbus mater needs to wait before it
can send its first request to a slave device. This is used to
reduce repeated exception during the initial boot-up,
especially when some slave devices take more time to boot
up than others in the environment.
Modbus TCP exception
Enable this setting for the Secure Device Server to be able to
return an exception response from the Modbus slave when
the request is not recognizable by the slave or when an error
occurs while sending the request.
Response timeout
Sets the time limit for receiving a response from a Modbus
slave device before the mater device gives up the request
and starts sending the next one.
Inter-character timeout
Sets the time limit between each character of a request. If the
time is out before all the characters of a request is received,
the request will be discarded.
Auto-routing
Select this setting for the Secure Device Server to
automatically routes any received requests to the connected
RTU/ASCII slave devices. If disabled, received request will
only be forwarded to the specified slave device (ID).
