Some APCC Thoughts
●
Launch APCC first. APCC should always be the first software started and the last to be closed at the end of the
evening. Starting it first will ensure that the mount is properly initialized.
●
It connects directly to the mount on its physical interface: RS-232, USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
●
It then creates virtual COM ports for the AP V2 ASCOM Driver. Two high number COM ports are recommended, such
as COM21 and COM22 (two ports in case an administrative version is accidentally created).
Note: Other program connections, such as
Starry Night™
,
TheSkyX™
,
MaxImDL™
, etc. should connect to the AP V2
Driver.
●
Since it can create multiple virtual COM ports, multiple programs can connect to the mount at the same time, even
programs that don’t normally want to share a connection to the same mount with other programs. (Note that the AP
V2 ASCOM Driver is a hub and normally only needs its virtual ports even with several client programs running.)
