Over Temperature
The temperature of a
vfd
or motor com-
ponent is exceeding the thermal alarm
limit.
Check that there is some pump component that is hot. Then verify
that the motor and
vfd
cooling is functioning correctly. Wait until
components have cooled before returning to service. If problem per-
sists after powering up again contact Armstrong Technical Service.
Over Current
Several possible causes:
•
There is a discharge from the output
phases to earth.
•
A current limit has been exceeded in
the
vfd
.
•
The motor is being overloaded
Turn off the power to the pump and remove the fault by preforming
the following:
•
Verify with a megohmmeter between ground and the motor leads
to check for any faults.
•
Check that the motor can be turned.
•
Reduce the motor speed to reduce the load.
If the alarm persists after powering up again contact Armstrong
Technical Service
External Voltage
vfd
input voltage is out of range
Measuring
3
phase to see iif the voltage coming to
vfd
is matching
with the settings -Check the fuses measure voltage. If the alarm per-
sists after powering up again contact Armstrong Technical Service.
Internal Voltage
An internal voltage generated by
vfd
is
out of range
Contact Armstrong Technical Service.
Internal
An internal error to the
vfd
occurred.
Cycle power to the pump and check if the alarm reoccurs. If it does,
contact Armstrong Technical Service.
Parameter
The settings to control the
vfd
are not
correct.
Check the
vfd
parameters on the control card.
Startup
An error occurred during the startup of
the motor.
Turn power off to the pump. Check that the motor can be turned.
Turn power on to the pump, if the alarm returns after powering up
again, contact Armstrong Technical Service.
Other
An internal
vfd
alarm has occurred.
Cycle power to the pump and check if the alarm reoccurs. If it does,
Contact Armstrong Technical Service
Communication
There is a communication issue between
the control card and
vfd
.
Check the connections between the control card and the
vfd
.
Speed
The speed set by the
vfd
is not within
tolerance.
Cycle power to the pump. If the alarm re-occurs, contact Armstrong
Technical Service.
Wiring
There is an issue in wiring to the
vfd
Check the wiring to motor. -Check Analog/Digital I/O and motor
connections
