From a Standing And Raising
Aid (14 steps
)
ArjoHuntleigh has compatible standing and
raising aids that can be used with the
Alenti.
They are
Sara 3000
and
Sara Plus
.

Fold back the
Alenti
hand rest-handle
arm.

Position the standing and raising aid with
the resident in front of the
Alenti
seat.

Make sure
Alenti
is as close as possible to
the standing and raising aid, with the res-
ident’s back towards the
Alenti
seat.
(See Fig.1)

Activate the brakes on
Alenti
and ensure
that they are locked.

Lower the resident until he or she is sit-
ting on the
Alenti
seat.
(See Fig. 1)

Unhook the sling.

Fold forward the
Alenti
hand rest-handle
arm so that the resident can hold on to it.

Raise
Alenti
until the resident's feet are
free from the standing and raising aid.

Remove the sling from the resident.
Make sure the resident is in an upright
position in the centre of the seat with his
or her:
•
buttocks at the back of the seat,
•
back against the back rest and
•
hands on the hand rest.

WARNING
To avoid falling, make sure that
the resident is positioned cor-
rectly and that the safety belt is
being used, properly fastened
and tightened.
WARNING
To avoid resident falling out of
the device, make sure that the
arm rest are folded down during
transfer.
11 Secure the resident with the safety belt.
12 Remove the standing and raising aid.
Adjust
Alenti
to an ergonomic height for
the caregiver and safe for moving the res-
ident.

14 Release the
Alenti
brakes.

Lower the
Alenti
.

Face resident towards the standing and
raising aid.

Leave the
Alenti
brakes unlocked.

Activate the brakes on the standing and
raising aid.

Fold back the
Alenti
hand rest-handle
arm, away from the resident.

Position the resident’s feet onto the
standing and raising aid foot support.
7
Remove the safety belt and attach the
safety belt clip to the hand rest-handle
arm.
8
Put the sling around the resident.
9
Attach the sling to the standing and rais-
ing aid.
10 Gently raise the standing and raising aid.

11 Release the brakes of the standing and
raising aid and slowly move it and the
resident away from the
Alenti
.

WARNING
To avoid the resident from fall-
ing, always ensure that the
device is in the lowest possible
position before attempting to
transfer, dress or undress the
resident.
