Alenti
is compatible with most generic
hospital beds with a clearance of 150 mm
(5 7/8”).

Apply the wheel brakes on the bed.

Drop the bed rail and turn the resident
onto his or her side away from
Alenti.
(See Fig. 1)

Fold back both handle arms to clear the
area above the
Alenti
seat

Position
Alenti’s
front over the bed, so
the
Alenti
seat is on top of the bed, as
close to the resident as possible.

Lower the seat so that it presses firmly
against the bed.

Activate the brakes on
Alenti
and ensure
that they are locked.

Turn the resident onto his or her back and
ensure that he or she is positioned cor-
rectly on the seat.

Fold forward the hand rest-handle arm so
that the resident can hold on to it.

Help the resident to sit upright, either
manually or by raising the head end of
the bed.

10 Lean the resident forward.
11 Fold forward the back rest-handle arm
and make sure it is behind the resident’s
back for support.
WARNING
To avoid falling during transfer,
always ensure that the brakes are
applied on all equipment being
used.
Make sure the resident is in an upright
position in the centre of the seat with his
or her:
•
buttocks at the back of the seat,
•
back against the back rest and
•
hands on the hand rest.
13 Secure the resident with the safety belt.
14 Raise the
Alenti
seat to a height enough
to move
Alenti
away from the bed.
15 Release the
Alenti
brakes.
16 Pull the
Alenti
away from the bed while
supporting the resident's legs.

17 Make sure
Alenti
is completely clear
from the bed and other devices.
18 Adjust
Alenti
to an ergonomic height for
the caregiver and safe for moving the res-
ident.
The resident should keep his or her hands
on the hand rest.

To avoid falling, make sure that
the resident is positioned cor-
rectly and that the safety belt is
being used, properly fastened
and tightened.
WARNING
To avoid resident falling out of
the device, make sure that the
arm rest are folded down during
transfer.

always ensure that the device is
in the lowest possible position
before attempting to transfer,
dress or undress the resident.
