Active Riding
Overview
“Active Riding” is the second part of “P.A.S.S.” It involves an understanding of
how your body weight, balance, gravity, and physical forces affect the handling
of the ATV. For example, when you drive a car quickly into a sharp turn, your
body is pulled to the outside of the turn by centrifugal force. Although a car is
relatively stable, enough centrifugal force can cause the ATV to overturn. Con-
stantly shifting operator and passenger weight is one major difference between
driving a car and riding the ATV. Knowing how to shift your weight is necessary
to avoid rolling or flipping the ATV.
For complete operating instructions, see ATV OPERATION section in this man-
ual.
