Purchasing Pay Per View
(PPV) Programs
This chapter explains how to purchase Pay Per View (PPV) pro-
grams.
About PPV
You can purchase PPV programs from dedicated PPV channels
or by using the Program Guide. You can purchase PPV pro-
grams in advance, or in certain circumstances, within several
minutes after the program has started. (You can rewind to watch
the beginning of such programs.)
If you purchase a future program, a reminder timer will alert you
one minute before the program is about to start.
You can restrict which household members can purchase PPV
programs by enabling the Purchase PIN.
Purchased PPV programs are identified by a dollar sign icon
in the Program Guide, QuickInfo and the Channel Banner.
A maximum of seven pending PPV programs can be purchased
at any time.
Note: You cannot pause or rewind a PPV program unless it is
being recorded.
Enabling, Disabling, or Changing the
Purchase PIN
The Purchase PIN feature lets you prevent unauthorized house-
hold members from purchasing PPV programs. When the Pur-
chase PIN is enabled, a PIN is required to purchase a PPV
program, as shown below. If you have not created a Purchase
PIN and try to enable the PIN, you will be prompted to create
one.
