Danger of accidents
Oil or grease on the brake discs reduces the braking effect.
• Always keep the brake discs free of oil and grease.
• Clean the brake discs with brake cleaner when necessary.
Main work
Check the wheel bearing for damage and wear.
If the wheel bearing is damaged or worn:
• Change the rear wheel bearing.
• Insert the spacers 1.
• Position the rear wheel and insert wheel spindle 2.
• Position chain adjuster 3. Mount nut 4, but do not tighten
it yet.

Guideline
Nut, rear wheel spindle M12 76Nm (56 lbf ft)
• Operate the foot brake lever repeatedly until the brake li-
nings are in contact with the brake disc and there is a pres-
sure point.
The type, condition, and air pressure of the tires all have a major impact on the handling of the motorcy-
cle. The tires mounted on the front and rear wheels must have a similar profile.
Worn tires have a negative effect on handling characteristics, especially on wet surfaces.
• Check the front and rear tires for cuts, run-in objects, and other damage.
If the tires have cuts, run-in objects, or other damage:
• Change the tires.
• Check the tread depth.
Only mount tires approved and/or recommended by Apollo.
Other tires could have a negative effect on handling characteristics.
