Entering WEP Keys
To enter up to four WEP keys, select the key length and enter the key values for all keys, then press
Save
.
Each of the WEP Keys entered here must match the WEP Keys set on the Touch Panels that will utilize
this WAP.
To maximize WEP security, fill in all four WEP Keys for the WAP-250G.
Use one WEP Key for
transmission from the WAP, and a different WEP Key for transmittion from the Touch Panel.
For example, assuming that all four WEP Keys were entered for the WAP-250G, and the same four WEP
Keys are defined on one or more Touch Panels, you can select
Key 1
on the WAP-250G (for transmission
to the touch panel), and select
Key 2
on one of the Touch Panels. This scenerio avoids using a single
WEP Key to encrypt data coming to and from both the WAP-250G and the panel, thus making the data
much more difficult to decrypt.
As long as all four WEP Keys on the Touch Panel match the four WEP Keys on the WAP-250G, the
touch panels will all be able to connect to the WAP-250G, using any of the entered WEP Keys.
FIG. 13 illustrates a WEP security scenerio for a system using a touch panel and a single WAP-250G:
WPA-PSK Key
: Enter as an easy-to-remember form of letters and numbers. The key must be
from 8 to 63 ASCII characters, which can include spaces (FIG. 14).
