Appendix F: Creating
Templates
Templates can contain the following:
Most ASCII characters
Binary bytes encoded, such as „\xFF‟, where FF
is two hex digits (0-9,A-F) representing the value
Parameter placeholders, such as {check}.
Always enclosed in curly brackets.
If you need to include any of these special
characters in a template, you should use the binary
byte encoding format to specify their actual binary
value (elsewhere in XML may require other
encoding).
You can also include the characters shown in
Table 19
using the XML syntax, such as “&”,
but non-printing characters will be difficult to read in
the debug window.
