User Defined Icon

The user defined icon can be used for a number of functions.
It can control a Receiver relay in latching mode, or call up
another map for display.

The User Class Icon Setup dialog box has several sections.
Type an icon Description in the text entry box at the top.  This
description is displayed in the icon dialog box when the icon is
activated in Excalibur.

The two lower sections provide mutually exclusive icon
actions: Call Camera/Auxiliary Contact or Call Map.  Select
only one, for the type of user icon control desired.

Call  Camera/Auxiliary Contact

If the “Call Camera/Auxiliary Contact” check box is selected,
first enter the number of the Switcher that controls this
Receiver.  The switcher number entered must be for a valid
switcher that is connected and properly set up.

Enter a Camera number, a Monitor to call the camera to, and
an Auxiliary relay number to assign to the icon.  An auxiliary
relay can be assigned to this use of the icon, and this relay
must be set for latching operation.  Therefore, to just call a
camera without activating a relay, use a camera icon.  To call a
camera and activate a relay at the same time, use this icon.

This icon may be configured for momentary action or for
toggle/control action.  If “Toggle/Control” is selected, the
auxiliary relay toggles when the Control button and then the
icon is activated in Excalibur.  If “Toggle/Control” is selected,
a “Confirmation Box” check box may also be selected.  If this
is checked, a message box asking “Are you sure?” is displayed
each time the operator activates or deactivates the icon.

A second (local) switcher call may be defined for this icon, for
operating in a “Satellite” mode (page 5-2).  Select the “2nd
Switcher” button to bring up the Second (LOCAL) Switcher
Setup dialog box, illustrated on page 5-5.  Enter the second
switcher number, the input (camera) number, and the output
(monitor) number in the appropriate entry boxes.  (Refer to the
Second (LOCAL) Switcher Setup box illustrated on page 5-5.)

An operator Control Level, from 0 to 15, may be entered for
the icon to restrict control of the auxiliary relay.  

An “Autoshunt” entry box is provided for the user defined
icon.  This allows automatic shunting of an alarm contact when
the user icon is activated.  Enter that alarm contact number in
the “Autoshunt” entry box.

Call Map

If the “Map Call” check box is selected, only a map file can be
specified for callup from this icon.  Select the name of the map
file to callup from the list of map files.  Click the mouse on the
arrow at the right of the Map to Call box to scroll through the
available map files in the data directory.

After all data is entered for the User icon, select “OK” to save
the icon setup data and close the dialog box.  Select “Cancel”
to exit without saving the icon setup information.  See page 5-2
for restrictions on using “Delete” in the icon setup box.
