The following variables control PacketCable event reporting
pktcDevEvControl
Defines actions related to the event log configuration. Settings are:
resetLog
(1)—empties the event log (deletes all data).
setDefaults
(2)—restores all event priorities to factory default reporting parameters.
useConfigured
(3)—reloads
previously configured reporting parameters.
pktcDevEvControlState
The state of the device as modified by
pktcDevEvControl.
The possible states are as follows:
logReset
(1)
defaultSet
(2)
useConfigured
(3)
processing
(4)
—
a
state change is underway.
pktcDevEvSyslogAddressType
The type of Internet address of the Syslog server.
pktcDevEvSyslogAddress
The IP address of the Syslog server. Use
0.0.0.0
to specify no Syslog server. Using an FQDN is
allowed but not recommended.
pktcDevEvSyslogUdpPort
The UDP port number that the MTA uses to send requests to the Syslog server.
pktcDevEventThrottle MIB
The following variables control event throttling.
pktcDevEvThrottleAdminStatus
Controls the transmission of traps and Syslog messages with respect to the trap pacing threshold.
throttlingInhibited
(1)—transmit
traps and Syslog messages without regard to the threshold settings.
(default)
dynamicThresholding
(2)—suppresses
trap transmission and Syslog messages to be suppressed if
the number of traps would otherwise exceed the threshold.
manualThresholding
(3)—trap
transmissions cease at the threshold, and do not resume until
directed to do so.
eventsInhibited
(4)—suppresses
all trap transmission and Syslog messages.
A single event is always treated as a single event for threshold counting. That is, an event causing
both a trap and a Syslog message is still treated as a single event. Writing to this object resets the
thresholding state.
pktcDevEvThrottleInhibited
If
true(1),
trap/inform and Syslog transmission is currently inhibited due to: thresholds; the current

or no Syslog

or

destinations have been set.
pktcDevEvThrottleThreshold
Sets the number of trap/Syslog events per
pktcDevEvThrottleInterval
to be transmitted before
throttling. A single event is always treated as a single event for Threshold counting. That is, an event
causing both a trap/inform and a Syslog message is still treated as a single event. At initial startup,
this object returns
2
.
pktcDevEvThrottleInterval
The interval over which the throttle threshold applies. At initial startup, this object has a value of
1
.
pktcDevEvProgrammableTable
This table is part of the
pktcDevEventConfig
MIB. It configures the reporting of the various
programmable events. This table allows control of the reporting of event classes. For each event priority,
a combination of logging and reporting mechanisms may be chosen. The mapping of event types to
