6.2
Securing the tractor / implement against unintentional start-up and roll-
ing
WARNING
Risk of crushing, cutting, catching, being drawn in and/or
knocked down when intervening in the implement through unin-
tentional:
•
lowering of the implement when it is lifted with the tractor's
three-point hydraulic system and unsecured,
•
lowering of parts of the implement when in an elevated and
unsecured position,
•
start-up and rolling of the tractor-implement combination.
•
Secure the tractor and the implement against unintentional start-
up and rolling before any adjustments of modifications on the
implement.
•
It is prohibited to adjust or modify the implement, for example
installation, adjustment, troubleshooting, cleaning, maintenance
and repairs:
ο
while the implement is in operation
ο
while the tractor engine is running with the PTO shaft / hy-
draulic / electric system connected
ο
with the ignition key in the tractor and the tractor engine
can be started unintentionally with the PTO shaft / hydraulic
/ electric system connected
ο
when the tractor and implement have not each been pre-
vented from unintentionally rolling away by applying the
parking brakes and/or securing them with wheel chocks
ο
when moving parts are not blocked against unintentional
movement
There is a high risk of contact with unsecured components when
carrying out such work.
1. Lower the implement and implement parts when elevated and
unsecured.

This prevents unintentional falling:
2. Turn off the tractor engine.
3. Remove the key from the ignition.
4. Apply the tractor's parking brake.
5. Secure the implement from unintentional rolling (only discon-
nected implement):
ο
by applying the parking brake (if fitted) or by using wheel
chocks, if the terrain is level
ο
by applying the parking brake and using wheel chocks if the
implement is on uneven terrain or incline.
