Chapter 18: How to Setup a Speed Dial Extension to Call
an External Number
In order to setup a speed dial extension, you must edit the dial plan. Click on the advanced tab
and then manual edit configs. In the drop down list, open the extensions.conf file. You must add a
line that is similar to the following example to the [druid-users] context (modifying the extension
number and target phone number appropriately.
exten =>7,1,Dial(MSPD/fxoall/18004102745)
Save the changes to the file and then reload the server. For this example, extension 7 has been
added to the system. Extension 7 will grab any available FXO port and dial 18004102745 and
then connect the call. Change the extension value from 7 extension value you would like to use to
dial the target phone number. Change the target phone number from 18004102745 to the number
you would like to dial.
