Battery Safety Checklist
DANGER: The batteries have high energy and chemical hazards.
The battery compartment contains dangerous voltages. Read this
manual for safe battery handling, maintenance and disposal
instructions.
Battery servicing should be done or supervised by personnel
trained in handling of batteries and the required precautions.
When not in service, charge the batteries once every three months
for optimum performance and long life.
Batteries should be inspected yearly for signs of cracks, leaks or
swelling.
Always replace batteries with those of identical type and rating.
Never install old or untested batteries.
Proper disposal is required. Refer to local codes for procedures.
DANGER: Batteries may explode if burned. Do not open or
mutilate batteries. Electrolyte is harmful to the skin and eyes and
may be toxic.
