5 - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
5.5 USE
After going through all the previously described procedures, start up the tractor and keep the machine slightly lifted off
the ground, insert the P.T.O. shaft and keep motor at a low speed.
Once you start moving forward with the tractor, start lowering the machine towards ground level and lead motor to
normal speed.
Tractor speed with the machine at work must not exceed 10 Km/h in order to avoid failures or
damages.
5.6 USEFUL ADVICE
Once the machine is at work, it is possible to have stones or other blunt objects lifted by the rotating blades. Check
constantly that no persons, children or pets are near the working area of the machine. Also the driver (or operator)
must follow these rules and keep the safety distance. Avoid turning machine on empty (off the ground). DO NOT
make side turns when machine is lowered into the ground and DO NOT work in reverse.
Always lift the machine when changing direction or changing gears. During transportation and whenever lifting of
machine is necessary, adjust the power unit of the tractor not to lift machine off the ground more than 30÷35 cm.
Avoid driving in public roads when machine is dirty with soil, grass or other dirt which could endanger road traffic.
DO NOT lower machine on the ground at one go, lower it down very slowly, otherwise its components could be put at
risk and/or damaged.
5.7 UNHOOKING OF MACHINE
To unhook the machine off the tractor do as follows:
- disconnect the power unit of the tractor.
- lower machine onto the ground, turn off the motor and pull up parking brake.
- release the P.T.O. shaft from the power unit of the tractor, and fasten it to its corresponding hook .
- adjust the supports before releasing machine.
- unhook fasteners and perform procedures described in Para. 4.3 the other way round
5.8 STORAGE
If you are not going to use the machine for a long period, to make sure you protect all of its parts, it is better to do the
following maintenance operations before storing it:
a)
Wash off fertilizers or other chemical products etc. from machine and then dry carefully .
b)
Check that the machine is in a good state.
Consider this as an advantage, it will be ready next time you use it.
c)
Protect metal parts which are not coated with lubricants, cover machine with care and store it in a dry place.
5.9 INCONVENIENCES AND POSSIBLE REMEDIES
-
If the machine makes strange noises, stop it immediately and check that all the indications submitted by the
manufacturer for a correct use are being followed
-
Working with a malfunctioning machine could be of danger for the user
WORKING ON A HILL
If possible climb up towards the inclination of the hill. If this is not possible, then avoid working along the sides of the
hill, try and take paths from uphill to downhill.
PRACTICAL OBSERVATIONS:
The “worked” terrain should always be on the driver’s right. The best way to work is at alternate strips.
