3 - SAFETY NORMS
Avoid machine running on empty (out of the
ground). During operation, avoid turns with the
machine driven into the ground and avoid
working in reverse. Lift machine when
changing direction or changing gears.
During transportation, or whenever lifting of
machine is necessary, the hydraulic lifter of the
tractor must be set in a way that the machine
cannot be lifted from the ground over 30 cm.
Avoid public roads when machine is dirty with
turf, grass or anything else which could cause obstacles to the traffic. Put machine on the ground slowly, lower it
gradually inserting blades into the ground, otherwise the components of the machine could be damaged.
During transportation in normal roads, with the lifted machine, put the joy stick into the position of blocking the
hydraulic lifter of the tractor.
Do not use the machine indoors unless there is a good ventilation.
Before engaging the power unit check the pre-set number of revolutions. Do not exchange the 540 rpm setting with
the 1000 rpm.
Use only the P.T.O. shaft authorised by the manufacturer. This must be protected against overloads.
Installation and dismantling of the P.T.O. shaft must always be done when the motor is turned off.
Protection of the P.T.O. shaft must be efficient at all times, it must be checked
periodically, it has to be locked with the chains to prevent it from rotating.
Always disconnect the power unit when the P.T.O. shaft is at an angle over
25°, see the figure.
Take care of the P.T.O. shaft protection both during transportation and during operation.
Installation and dismantling of the P.T.O. shaft must always be performed when the motor is turned off.
It is important to install and remove the P.T.O. shaft properly (both to/from the power unit of the machine and to/from
the P.T.O. of the tractor).
Before starting up the power unit, make sure that there are no people or animals in the area you are working in, and
that the selected setting corresponds to the one allowed by the manufacturer. Never exceed limits indicated by the
manufacturer.
To avoid burns : DO NOT touch the gears, the overdrive unit or the inner parts of the hydraulic plant after using the
machine for a long period.
The side skids also act as a protection avoiding easy access to the rotor. Whenever there are no skids, the machine
is supplied with two protection plates.
The machine MUST NOT be used at night time, in bad weather conditions or whenever there is not enough visibility.
Before using the machine make sure you have understood well the command devices and their functions.
Hook up the machine onto a tractor with the power characteristics and configuration required by means of a special
lifter in conformity with the norms indicated by the supplier.
CAUTION during the hooking and unhooking phases.
NEVER leave the driver seat while the tractor is in motion.
Before leaving the tractor, lower the machine lifter hooked to the group, stop the motor, pull up parking brake and
remove the ignition key from the control panel.
The attachment pivots category of the machine must correspond to the ones of the lifter.
During transportation, lifting side arms must be tightened with the corresponding chains and tighteners.
