Locally Administered Address
The Locally Administered Address is a user-defined MAC address that is
used in place of the MAC address originally assigned to the network
adapter. Every adapter in the network must have its own unique MAC
address. This locally administered address consists of a 12-digit
hexadecimal number.
To specify or change the Locally Administered Address, do the following:
1. Access the Advanced Properties.
See “Accessing Advanced Properties” on page 58.
2. Select
Locally Administered Address
in the Property box.
The Locally Administered Address page is displayed as shown in
Figure 35.

3. Select one of the following options:
Value —
Used to manually assign a MAC address to
the adapter.
Not Present —
Uses the factory-assigned address on
the adapter. This is the default.
