Rebooting a Switch
To reboot a switch, perform the following procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, type
T
to select Switch Tools.
2. From the Switch Tools Configuration Menu, type
R
to select System
Reboot.
The System Reboot Menu is displayed in Figure 9.

3. Type
O
and then set a Reboot Option: Factory Default, Factory Default
Except IP, or Normal. The default reboot option is Normal. The three
Reboot options are described below:
Normal
Resets the switch and saves your configuration changes.
Factory Default
Resets the switch to its factory default settings. If you select this
option, all of your configuration changes will be erased.
Factory Default Except IP
Resets the switch to its factory default settings except for the IP
address you assigned to the switch.
4. Type
R
to Start Reboot Process.
The switch immediately reloads its operating system. This process
will take a few minutes.
Caution
The switch will not forward traffic during the brief period required to
reload its operating software. Some data traffic may be lost.
