To Adjust Belt Tension:
1)
Belt is tensioned with a belt tensioning tool and set between 7 - 9 pounds.
2)
Check belt tension frequently during the first 24 - 48 hours of operation.
3)
Over tensioning shortens belt and bearing life.
4)
Make V-drive inspection on a periodic basis. Tension belt when slipping.
5)
To adjust belt tension, loosen engine mounting nuts
[C]
on both sides to allow
engine to move freely when adjusting. Refer to Figure 3.3.2.
6)
Loosen belt tensioner bracket adjustment nuts
[B]
both sides and turn inside
adjustment nut moving the belt tensioner bracket
[A]
in appropriate direction
until desired belt tension pound rating has been reached.
7)
Re-tighen all engine mounting nuts

and adjustment nuts
