13. USB Test

Additional equipment:
Windows XP computer with a free USB port
USB cable
a) Connect the USB cable between the unit and the computer, then press [PLAY]. If everything is working,
the test will finish in less than 1 second, then the LCD will display the following:

Additional equipment required:
Trigger tester (see Appendix C)
Sinewave generator (capable of at least 5Vpeak output)
a) Press [PLAY]. The screen will display:
KICK CABLE
b) Set to the sine wave generator output to 5V peak at 100Hz, and connect the generator to the trigger tester.
c) Plug the KICK cable into the trigger tester. The LCD will display the following:
KICK CABLE
And after about half a second, it will inform the user to test the TIP:
KICK CABLE
Test TIP
Verify that the cable name shown on the LCD matches the label on the DB25 cable.
d) Press S1 on the trigger tester to test the TIP. If the correct signal level is detected, the
LCD will display the following briefly:
KICK CABLE
Test TIP
Level OK
Trig 0 = 305
