Chapter 5—Recording Samples

0 to –63:
Recording starts automatically when the level of the input signal exceeds this
threshold. The specified threshold is indicated on the LEVEL METER by the following
indicators.
OFF:
Recording is started by pressing “RECORD.”
MIDI:
Recording starts when a MIDI Note On message is received.

Press “RECORD.”
If the “Threshold” parameter is set to OFF, recording starts as soon as “RECORD” is
pressed.
If the “Threshold” parameter is set to a value between 0 and –63, the message “Waiting
for input signal...” appears, as shown below. Recording starts when the level of the input
signal exceeds the specified threshold. You can also start recording manually by pressing
“START” or cancel recording by pressing “CANCEL.”
If the “Threshold” parameter is set to MIDI, the message “Waiting for MIDI NOTE...”
appears, as shown below. Recording starts when a MIDI Note On message is received
(i.e., when you press a key on a connected MIDI keyboard). You can also start recording
manually by pressing “START” or cancel recording by pressing “CANCEL.”
While recording is in progress, the progress bar appears, and the message “Recording...”
is displayed, as shown below.
Recording stops automatically when the specified recording time has elapsed.

You may press “STOP” to stop recording manually.
If “Auto normalize” in the Recording Setup window is set to “YES,” the Sample is nor-
malized.
The Keep or Retry window appears, as shown below.

Press “PLAY” to play the new Sample.

You may press “RETRY” to discard the new Sample and try again.
