5.5 Connecting and adjusting the potentiome-
ter (option)

Only qualified electricians may carry out the work.

Adhere to the regulations of the VDE (German Association for Electri-
cal, Electronic and Information Technologies) and to the regulations is-
sued by the local utility company.
Electrical connection

Always connect the potentiometer with a shielded cable separated from
the mains voltage lines.

Observe the schematic diagram inside the hood.

Terminals 18 and 20 may be swapped during wiring in order to match the
potentiometer reading to the rotational direction of the actuator.
The maximum permitted wiper
current of the potentiometer may
not be exceeded.
The measuring electronics used
for evaluating the potentiometer
must therefore have a very high
internal resistance R

The required minimum internal
resistance depends on the per-
mitted wiper current and the con-
stant voltage U.
The maximum permitted voltage
is based on the maximum power
rating and the rated resistance of
the potentiometer.
