Choose wet or dry run spotting:
Wet Run
– Select this for normal dispensing runs.
Dry Run
– Use this mode to test dispensing runs. All normal movement and
operations occur, but the pin array remains in a raised position. The pins do not dip
into microplates or wash stations, and they do not lower onto SpectroCHIP Arrays.

Set the calibrant dispensing options (see
dispense/aspirate
– Controls how many dispense operations are performed for each
load (or aspiration) of calibrant. Pins are lowered into the calibrant reservoir to load
calibrant. The calibrant is dispensed to SpectroCHIP Arrays by touching the pins to
the SpectroCHIP Array surface at the calibrant pads. It is possible to dispense several
times (multiple pin touches to a pad) before reloading the pins with calibrant. It is
recommended you leave this setting at "1".
dispense speed
– Controls how fast the pins move to deposit calibrant onto
SpectroCHIP Arrays. This speed determines how much calibrant is deposited. It is
recommended to set this at 100 for iPLEX and UltraSEEK analytes, and at 140 for
MassCLEAVE analytes.

Set the aspirate options (see
for recommended values):
aspirate time –
The amount of time pins are dipped into microtiter plate wells to load
analyte.

– How far pins are dipped into microtiter plate wells. For more

aspirate speed
– How fast the pins are lowered into and raised from microtiter plates.

Set the dispense settings (see
These settings control the movement and speed of the pin array when dispensing
analyte onto SpectroCHIP Arrays.
dispense time
– How long the pins rest on the SpectroCHIP Array surface. The
recommended setting is 0 seconds. This means that the pins do not linger on the
SpectroCHIP Array surface at all—they move in a continuous down-up motion with no
delay in between.
dispense offset
– How far the pins are lowered onto the SpectroCHIP Array surface.
The pins are spring-loaded and when pushed onto the SpectroCHIP Array surface
they are pushed back up into the pin array body. In effect, this setting determines how
far the pins are pushed up by the SpectroCHIP Array surface. Leave this setting at 1
mm unless instructed otherwise by an Agena Bioscience representative,
dispense speed
– How fast the pins move during dispensing movements. This setting
is the primary way to control the size of droplets deposited by the pins.
