5.2.2
Excessively high temperatures of the medium in the case of
Bourdon tube pressure gauges and capsule pressure gauges
1. Install a siphon or a chemical seal to help protect the pressure gauge
from the hot medium.
5.2.3
Corrosive media
Standard pressure gauges may be used if corrosive media can be kept
away from the measuring element by means of separating elements. If
this is impossible, the material most suitable for the medium to be measu-
red and for its pressure must be selected.
1. Provide the manufacturer with all information on the materials that are
compatible with the medium to be measured under the specific measu-
ring conditions.
2. If the materials of the elastic measuring elements of the Bourdon tube
pressure gauges are not sufficiently resistant to the medium, use either
suitable diaphragm pressure gauges or use a chemical seal with the
Bourdon tube pressure gauge.
WARNING
FAILURE OF THE PRESSURE GAUGE DUE TO EXCESSIVE TEMPERA-
TURE OF THE MEDIUM
•
Verify that the temperature of the medium does not exceed the permissible
operating temperature of the product.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or equip-
ment damage.
