MAINTENANCE WORK
Every work on the power pump must be carried out by a specialised operator with adequate
training and specifi c tools.
To guarantee a long life for the power pumps, they must be periodically serviced. The
following controls should be carried out every 250-300 hours working or at least twice a
year:
•
check the power supply voltage is correct and the intake current on the three phases is
balanced and does not exceed the specifi ed level on the plate;
•
check the electric insulation on the motor;
•
check the noise and vibration levels are in line with those at the best working conditions
of the machine.
All the power pumps in the MASTER/STREAM/HM/HV/QM/QV series have the electric motor
and mechanical seal on the motor side immersed in biodegradable hydraulic oil: pay special
attention, because the oil could have a slight overpressure with respect to the external
environment.
In normal working conditions the oil must be changed once a year; in heavy working
conditions is must be changed every six months.
To empty and fi ll up with oil in the top seal
(motor side)
, use the special caps on the motor
fl ange. If the emptied oil is like an emulsion, it must be changed with new oil and check the
mechanical seal on the pump side is not damaged; if water comes out with the emptied oil,
the seal on the pump side must be changed. When the tank has been fi lled with new oil,
check that the caps are fi rmly closed and have a new aluminium or copper sealing gasket
fi tted.
To empty and fi ll the motor tank with oil, use the motor cover and/or, for more powerful
pumps, the cap on the motor body; the mechanical seal on the motor side only needs
changing if it is damaged or there is liquid in the motor tank. When the motor tank has
been fi lled up with new oil, check that the cap is fi rmly closed and has a new aluminium
or copper sealing gasket; also replace the rubber sealing gasket between the motor cover
and body.
For the power electropump to work correctly, it is important that only Marcol 82 ESSO or
similar oil is used, respecting the amounts given in the following table:

Turn off power to the pump before any servicing or repair work. Do not remove the
pump from the water while it is still running.
