ELECTRIC CONNECTION
The electric wiring must be done by a qualifi ed electrician, respecting current
local legislation.
Ensure that the voltage and frequency of the power line correspond to those
given on the power pump specifi cation plate.
Ensure that the power line is correctly earthed and earth the connection to the
power pump as well.
The power cable must never be stretched, pulled or folded.
During installation, ensure that the free end of the power cable is not immersed in the water
and that it is protected against any infi ltrations of water or damp.
Special attention must be paid to ensure the cable is not damaged: even small scratches
could cause infi ltration into the electric motor. Should the power cable be damaged in any
way, it should be replaced and not repaired: always contact a qualifi ed electrician to do this.
If any extensions are used, the coupling must be kept dry with an adequate section cable
to prevent any excessive falls in tension.
For single-phase power pumps with suction grinding system,
(series MASTER)
it is advisable
to use an auxiliary take-off condenser with electronic circuit breaker.
This condenser is connected parallel to the drive condenser, and increases the take-off
torque during start-up.
The single-phase and three-phase pumps require adequate electric protection installing
(magnetothermal switch set to the right level and diff erential switch with cut-in current
below 30 mA)
which guarantees total disconnection from the mains when the contacts are
open by at least 3 mm.
Turn off the power source before beginning any servicing or repair work to the power pump.
The maximum allowed diff erence between eff ective voltage and the rated level given on the
pump specifi cation plate is ± 6% for single-phase pumps and ± 10% for three-phase pumps.
