Completing the Model
1.
Make a Z-bend at one end of control wires 16. From the fuselage side insert wires into snakes and connect wires to servo contol
horns.
2.
Attach control surfaces to fin and elevator with tape. Use solder extenders 50 and clevises 51 to connect control wires to rudder and
elevator.
3.
Drill motor mount for outrunner backplate mount and temporarily insert wood screws. Remove wood screws and reinforce holes
with thin CA. Then install outrunner with backplate mount.
4.
Glue wing dowels 53 in place.
5.
Connect motor and RC components and check motor´s direction of rotation. When direction of rotation is correct, install prop. Install
battery in fuselage and secure with hook and loop tape. Balance the model. The centre of gravity is 65 mm behind the leading edge.
Try to achieve correct balance by relocating battery.
First Flight
Charge the model´s battery and again check centre of gravity. Make sure radio equipment operates correctly and that control surfaces move in correct
direction.
Select a calm day with little wind for your first flight. Hand-start the model into the wind with 50 % power and a slight nose-up attitude.
Allow Quido to climb to a save hight, then
trim model for straight and level flight.
Make only small corrections at a time.
Get used to your new model and try out
various manouvers.
Make sure you always land Quido into the
wind. Let the model approach with
moderate speed and switch off the motor
just before the model touches down.
