Maximum gust
The meteorological definition of a gust is, when the measured ten-minute-mean of the wind speed ex-
ceeds within a few seconds for at least 3 seconds and maximally 20 seconds. The maximum gust is
the maximum difference of a gust to a neighbouring lull. The reference lull can be the one before (+) or
after (-) the gust.

Heat index / Humidex or wind chill
For the calculation of the heat index and humidex additionally the relative humidity and for the calcula-
tion of the wind chill, the wind speed is needed.

The heat index is a calculated parameter that combines air temperature and relative humidity to deter-
mine the human-perceived equivalent temperature.
